The Many Celebrations Of Art

Women love art just as much as any man (obviously there’s a lot of room for debate on that one but I’m not a genetic biologist or neurological specialist), and I’m sure you or anyone you know has a certain love (or at least respect) for the world’s museums. One particular art museum in New York City, The Metropolitan Museum of Art has one of the world’s finest art galleries. Below you can find a picture of just one of the hundreds of pieces that you can find there (if I’m not mistaken they have a pretty steady rotation of new and old pieces alike, but sadly I haven’t had the opportunity to visit The Met yet!)

You would be pretty safe to assume that any given woman on the planet has some artistic sense or another. While one’s individual taste in art can and will vary from person to person, I like this art deco piece of art found in The Met. Women of every nation celebrate their own taste in art every day. Typically, we find women that enjoy assembling their outfits and fashion, which is certainly artistic in its own way. However, typically the jewelry is the factor that ties an outfit together. With that in mind, take a look at some of these beautiful pieces of jewelry below.

These beautiful rings and pendant are certainly something to behold. I’m not quite as skilled as some of my older female family members when it comes to judging just by looking at something, whether or not an individual piece is the real thing or just plastic costume jewelry. With the sort of work you’d expect a young person to have, I’m not exactly making the kind of money that would allow for much jewelry purchasing. But then again, if it’s for the sake of celebrating art and boosting one’s self-esteem, I wouldn’t be too quick to shrug it off as simply disposable income…

A Night Filled with Jewelry and Fun For All Ages

Have you ever tried to find something to do that would be fun for you, maybe your daughter, mother, or a woman of any age? Well, look no further because home jewelry making parties could be the right answer for you. It’s a great idea because women of any age can participate, meaning that people can bring family, friends, or anyone that might be interested. It is a great way to meet people around the community. Friends of friends can finally meet and become acquainted. And the best part is that everyone can make a very special piece of jewelry to take with them. Read below to find some tips on how to have a night of fun with making jewelry at home.

There are a few things that are good for having jewelry making parties, and the first thing is the supplies. Make sure to have tons of beads of all different sizes, colors, and shapes. Each person needs to let their imagination run wild with the ideas they may have for the piece they want to make. There should probably be a good amount of tables and chairs set up so everyone can have their space. Getting an idea of how many people are coming is always smart, so someone should be in charge of an RSVP list for the invites. Sometimes design books or pattern books are helpful to give people ideas and inspiration for what they may want to make. If someone can’t figure out what to make, it can be a frustrating experience for that individual.

Jewelry parties can be combined with so many other social activities, so maybe find some ideas that you may want to incorporate. This can include cooking, baking, or even having another do it yourself section of something besides jewelry. The more that is offered at the event, the more people will want to attend. Maybe a movie could be played afterwards to keep people entertained, or make sure to have good music on throughout the event as well. So many things can be done to help spice up the night and allow people to have an amazing time. These are all just small tips to improve the night for everyone.

For some people hosting these homemade jewelry parties, it is best to find ways to cater to what the majority of the crowd consists of. If you know that the audience is going to be mostly adults, it can be fun to have wine at the event. If you know the event will mostly be girls or a younger crowd, you can supply candy or ice cream, or something that suits their needs more adequately. If you know you are going to have a large mix, maybe find something to incorporate for each group of people. If its a family event, allow the mother/daughter duo to sit next to each other. This will make their experience more rewarding. Adjusting to the audience will make everyone have more fun, after all, that what this night is all about!

Jewelry parties are so fun because everyone gets the chance to do something unique, and can really show their sense of style. Hosting a party can be easy, if you take the right steps and are organized. Make sure to know the number of people, get the appropriate supplies, maybe combine it with another fun activity, and make sure you have the right scene for the audience you are trying to entertain. This is the perfect equation for a night of fun with ladies of any age!

Classy And Intercultural Beading Without The High Cost

Sometimes you can find something you didn’t even know you wanted and in my case I’ve been on the search for some unique beads and only recently hit any pay dirt! I’m surprised to find a website with such an enormous selection and at such low prices, it really is something that I didn’t know I wanted until I found it (and immediately bookmarked!). Beads make great gifts of course and are even better when crafted into something beautiful to add that extra personal touch. Bracelets, anklets, necklaces, and pendants are typically the go to beaded gift ideas but there plenty of outlets for one’s own individual creativity. But anyway, I suppose it might be the book worm or history nerd in me but I like seeing different examples of the cultures of the world exemplified through all kinds of works of art, particularly in beads. Now that site I mentioned definitely has a variety, including some types of beads I knew from their look but didn’t know them by name, and some that I’d never seen or even heard of!

If I’m offering my subjective critique on the beads featured in the photo above, personally the beads themselves don’t seem as unique as all of the beads that are featured and sold in that website I mentioned above. However, just the display and arrangement of those simple beads is such an inspiration and definitely makes me wonder what somebody with that much talent could do with a selection of higher quality beads. I’m not much of an artist so I can’t argue on behalf of my own abilities (or lack thereof) when it would come to creating even a simple piece of jewelry, but if I harken back to my days as a child playing with blocks and toys of that nature, I think I might be capable of using beads to create a sculpture of sorts, similar in form to that photo of the Mexican style bead work. Now if I can only channel that energy into something worth looking at…

Modern Fun For Modern Girls

Whether you’re reading this humble blog posting because you’re a parent looking for a refreshing idea for an activity to enjoy with your daughter, or you’re reading this because you’re a young lady looking for some interesting ideas of your own, I hope you’ll not be disappointed. As you can see in the image above, pink has never gone out of style for a young lady’s palette, though many find themselves straying away from the stereotypically feminine color as they grow older, which is only natural.  Still, rearranging or adding different furnishing, colors, patterns, and figuring out what new look you and your daughter are interested in can always be a fun activity to enjoy together.

There is always something to do around the house together, regardless of your preference of current furnishing or color patterns.  With the advent of major streaming services, its easy to find some of the most entertaining television programs and films with an internet connection.  Having a debate about your favorite (or least favorite!) characters motives in the newest episode of your favorite TV show can always be fun.  If you’re a parent, you can always find some vintage TV shows from your childhood or maybe some classic Nintendo (or “FamiCom” for those of you not in the west) video games that you can find for free online easily enough as well.

If you or the young lady in your life is looking for something outside the house to do there are always plenty of options.  Take a look at this picture for instance; nothing can be quite as relaxing as just relaxing on a pier, on the beach, or by the shore of a nice calm lake and enjoying the quiet, a personal conversation, or even people watching.  But if you want to get a little more active, particularly in the laid back lifestyles enjoyed in the west, people find themselves out of shape fairly easily, so taking up an exercise regimen, enjoying sports, aerobics, martial arts, or yoga are excellent physical activities that can also heighten the quality of your lives.  Getting out of what can often feel like a stagnant culture in our current world is often a more deeply fulfilling form of fun, and sating your appetite for culture is easily achieved when you head out to your local museum (many museums often have a day of free access to try to take advantage of that!)

It’s always a good idea to encourage the kinds of positive activities and behavior in your life and those you care about if you want to promote positive changes in your lives.  Having a pet to care for and take out for walks around your neighborhood is a great way to encourage responsibility and encourage good health.  Taking a look at the picture below, you can see some professional cheerleaders, enjoying what may have begun as a fun activity with friends, but has now become their profession.  Cheer leading is a great way to stay in shape and help young ladies get out of their shells and develop good social skills as well.

The best advice for having fun though you’ll probably find in your own lives and figure out what is both beneficial for your lifestyle, and also enjoyable.

A Guide to Buying Jewelry for Young Ladies

As many parents quickly find out when raising a young girl or a teenager (both of which sound like daunting tasks) that jewelry is a factor in how the young people want to present themselves. Culture is often influenced by what one wears and what type of social niche group a given young person wants to ascribe them with.  As young ladies go through their youth trying to find out what kind of person they are, so too will the fashion accessories they wish to adorn themselves with to outwardly convey their personality.  It is often an awkward time with a fair amount of experimentation with different friends and musical tastes fluctuating greatly and at times even more than the change of the seasons.

Some useful areas to look for something that the young lady would actually like, would be in the new teen magazines and of course keeping an ear to the ground culturally by watching what is new on MTV or anything that the young lady you’re shopping for is interested in.  Often this comes down to looking at what posters are on her walls and what music you hear her playing the most often.  The religion or spirituality (or lack thereof) of the young lady in question can often be major deciding factor in what is deemed fashionable jewelry, as many (especially in the western world) can see that the Christian symbols of the cross and crucifix are not the only religious icons adorning fashion accessories in recent years, but any icon of every religion.  Pandora is a company that provides some great variety and even individualized and designed for whatever the young lady would like.  It will show consideration and genuine interest if you can get them something that they would like without having to ask, but having them pick out exactly what they want is still better than offering them something that they have to fake a smile for.  One last word to the wise: if you are an adult and think that something is cool, then the odds are not in your favor that a young lady will agree with you.
